When Melbourne Central required a lighting upgrade, GPT Group called on Vast Electrical’s expertise to handle the removal, installation, and integration of lighting on the first three levels of the building complex. Before work could begin on installing the newly designed lighting scheme, we had to first work alongside specialist demolition crews to remove the existing system. Once the old lighting had been safely removed, work began on installing the pre-selected products, to maintain a cohesive aesthetic throughout the space.
Unique To This Project:
Since the complex was still operational during the renovations, we were required to work night shifts to minimise the impact our work would have on the surrounding businesses. This required the installation of temporary lighting in the interim between moving from the old lighting to the new, architecturally designed, lighting plan. The project’s challenges didn’t end there, as we also had to ensure that the new system could be integrated to work smoothly with the existing systems that were to remain throughout the rest of the building. Overall, despite the special requirements of the redevelopment, our crew were more than capable of handling the task within the project’s timeframe and with minimal disruption to adjacent workplaces.
